The Director of Environmental Responsibility will require 2 committees; one for the Farmers’ Market, and one for programming. Below are the position descriptions. On the application, please indicate your top 3 choices of positions. All Applications are due by September 11 at 5pm. They can be turned in at the ASLMU office, Malone 101, or to KimberlyTomicich@gmail.com

FARMERS’ MARKET COMMITTEE:

*Position Title: Assistant Manager of Farmer’s Market
Description: Will assist Director in all aspects of market.
Correspondence with other directors: Potential correspondence with Directors of Intercultural Affairs, Campus Community, & Social Justice when they wish to participate in Farmer’s Markets.

*Position Title: Coordinator of Campus Relations
Description: Will work with LMU student organizations and students who want to sell items at Farmer’s Markets. Will work with Service Organization members who serve at Farmer’s Markets. Will work with KXLU when KXLU participates in Farmer’s Markets. 
Correspondence with other directors: Potential correspondence with Directors of Intercultural Affairs, Campus Community, & Social Justice when they wish to participate in Farmer’s Markets.
Correspondence with other campus offices: Student Leadership & Development; Center for Service & Action; Public Safety; KXLU.

*Position Title: Reservations Coordinator
Description: Will designate tables to participating farmers and vendors of each market. Will also arrange to have external guest participants (i.e. LA Food & Water Watch).
Correspondence with other directors: Potential correspondence with Directors of Intercultural Affairs, Campus Community, & Social Justice when they wish to participate in Farmer’s Markets.

*Position Title: Coordinator of Finances
Description: Will maintain market finances. Will ensure that Farmers get paid at the end of each market (exchange Market Dollars for real money). Will ensure that there is a FLEXI machine at each market.
Correspondence with other departments: ASLMU Office Manager
Correspondence with other campus offices: OneCard Office

*Position Title: Sales Team (10 members)
Description: Product promotion and sales of ASLMU eco-friendly merchandise. Also, partakes in the situating of Market vendors upon arrival during morning preparations or assists with the disassembly during closing. Thursday morning or afternoon availability required.
Correspondence with other directors: Potential correspondence with Directors of Intercultural Affairs, Campus Community, & Social Justice when they participate in Farmer’s Markets.
Correspondence with other departments: Any and all market participants
Correspondence with other campus offices: Any and all market participants
Correspondence with external/off campus contacts: Any and all market participants

 

PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE:

*Position Title: Programming Assistant
Description: Will assist Director of Environmental Responsibility in all aspects of programming: planning, preparation, and execution of events, programs, and any other environmental awareness efforts. This includes external correspondence, such as scheduling speakers, caterers & other necessary components for each event & program.

*Position Title: Eco-Research Assistant
Description: Will aid Director in ensuring that all aspects of programming are as environmentally friendly as possible. 

*Position Title: Public Relations Representative
Description: Provides continuous & accurate Environmental Responsibility programming information flow to the Communications Department Media Relations Rep in the form of press release drafts. Ensures that all requests for marketing materials and strategies are submitted to the Communications Department within the appropriate time frame and will maintain and Environmental Responsibility Facebook Group & Blog to identify, notify, and engage LMU students.

*Position Title: Facilities Coordinator
Description: Will ensure that the necessary facilities and equipment are reserved and provided for each program.
